Pop star Britney Spears , according to the newspaper , has a power of
attourney legally restricting her freedoms and financial decisions.
Such arrangements are not uncommon for the mentally incapacitated,
particularly the elderly...
However, she is not allowed full access to independent lawyers of her
own choosing...
and the bizarre twist is she is working a 50-date tour.....
well enough to work, not well enough to handle financial or personal
affairs???
I can't say I'm a fan of Britney at all but isn't this slavery- shades
of victorian circus bosses who "owned" sideshow freaks. Story appears
to be corroborated by legal experts who have actually seen the
paperwork...
this sounds sick.....
reminds me of the last days of Elvis , where management and various
hangers on effectively worked him into the ground knowing full well
his frail physical and mental health. If no-one was making money out
of this , that would be more acceptable- but they seem to be not only
chasing the ambulance but chasing it off a cliff...
